Hi, I'm Paula
I've lived on our croft here in Shetland for eighteen years. Long enough to know the impossible choice every dog owner faces: keep them confined and safe, or risk them around sheep.
I've watched dogs escape and cause harm. I've seen those same dogs spend the rest of their lives confined because there was simply nowhere else for them to go.
And I've walked my own dogs on-lead along the road, watching them strain towards the freedom they needed but couldn't have.
One evening, walking through a fenced section of our croft, I turned to my husband Magnus and said: "Wouldn't it be wonderful if people could bring their dogs here – safely?"
It took a while, but here we are. We've built what we wished existed when we first arrived in Shetland: a place where dogs can run free, you can relax, and nobody has to worry.
Welcome to Peerie Paws Park. We're so glad you're here.
